Big Changes for the General Membership Meetings for 2018!
1. No longer at the Elks Lodge. We're now meeting at the BP Energy Center, 900 E Benson Blvd in Anchorage. It's a more central location, with good parking and a better layout for our meetings! Check the HOME page for a map to the Energy Center if you've not been there before.
2. The meetings will now start at 6:30 PM instead of 7. This is an accommodation to mesh with the BP Energy Center's requirement that we be out of the building by 9:00 PM.
3. Food and beverages will no longer be available at the meetings.Again, due to restrictions by the Energy Center. This does not preclude you from bringing your own. But NO ALCOHOL. The Energy Center has a strict rule against that and we could be evicted from using their facility if we ignore that rule.
For our January Meeting, our presenter will be Tony Weaver, a long time AFF member whose list of accomplishments is too long to recount. He is planning to take us on a photo journey-seminar for one of the Alaska's greatest gamefish, the iconic Chinook Salmon. Tony will be explaining the fish, their rivers, and natural history for this unique species. He'll tell us about places to consider, gear to use, flies that work best, and spin some stories that are guaranteed to wake up your imagination and make you restless during this cold, dark time of the year! Join us at the Energy Center and Think Warm!!!
See you there!
